Talk:Jimi Hendrix

More sub-articles?

I'm new to Wikipedia, but I think that my article (Jimi Hendrix) that I wrote doesn't have enough sub-articles. I think that it should have one for Drugs, one for Guitars used, one for maybe Family Relations, that kind of thing.

I also think that the article should probably link to more things in it, such as Elvis Presley and other bands mentioned in it.

Please fix up the page as you see fit and comment on it here.

By sub-articles , do you mean sections, like "The Life, Death and Music of Jimi Hendrix"? --Isis§(talk) 18:29, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

I should probably change that, it's an inappropriate title. Maybe just plain and simple "Jimi Hendrix"? And possibly some more examples of his work, I think I only put "Little Wing" in.

Thanks for your comments and definitely for the links you put in.

This entry is no where near complete. Jimi Hendrix had more than three albums, and the dates on the three albums that they do include aren't all accurate. This article contains no mention of the Band of Gypsy's which was also a big section of Hendrix's musical career. There are no influences or collaborations mentioned in this add. They also failed to mention the Monterey Pop festival. I don't mean to sound harsh but this is the most incomplete article that I have ever read on Wikipedia. If you are passionate enough to include an artist on wikipedia I urge you to do as much research as possible before you post a section that allegedly has any relevance to a musician who has had an unbelievable impact on the history of music. VG article

Could someone cast a quick eye over this article? I've done all the editing I can find and want to know if there is any more necessary.
My goal is for this to become a very good article soon :)
Gwib-(talk)- 18:33, 2 August 2007 (UTC) Hello, you done quite a bit of work there. A few things still remain though:

  • The article is full of redlinks (Crit. 6); Note that a stub for each redlink is alright to meet the criteria.
  • Templates complex, and cleanup (Crit. 8); these are easy to remove, though
  • Some references would probably be nice (Crit. 9); there should be enough at the enWP article.

Full list of things the article must meet is here. Keep up the good work. --Eptalon 21:43, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Oh, and look at Justin Timberlake, which is a Very good article --Eptalon 21:48, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your words of advice, Eptalon! I've added and removed and created and I really think it's worthy of that "Very good article" stamp. Maybe a few more extentions and errors to be fixed but I would so appreciate it if anyone would look over it and change it till it's worthy of the Front Page of Simple Wiki.

Very impressive what you did. I have tagged the article as proposed very good. I have also started to copy over some of the references (those things with <ref>...</ref> where they apply. I already have the references section at the bottom, so adding references with the tags given is probably enough. Let's see what the community says. :) --Eptalon 20:12, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Nice work on the article. But the only problem I see with the article is that the lead is a little choppy (or short). It would be better to throw in an extra sentence or two. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 23:36, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
