Coronel Fabriciano is a Brazilian city in the Vale do Aço metropolitan area, state of Minas Gerais. Its population in 2009 was 105.037 inhabitants. Its area is 221,049 km². The city was founded in December 27, 1948.

The devolviment of the municipality due to the large companies in the region, such as ArcelorMittal Timóteo (former ACESITA) and Usiminas that when opened were located in territory fabricianense. But in 1964, with the political emancipation of Ipatinga and Timóteo, Coronel Fabriciano longer hosts them.

It is limited with the municipal districts Ipatinga, Timóteo, Ferros, Joanésia, Antônio Dias and Mesquita.
